Bhaderwah, Oct 22 (KNO): The Indian Army on Thursday held a career awareness programme for 300 students at Government Degree College (GDC), Bhaderwah, to inform them about recruitment opportunities, including officer-level entries, NCC special entry and opportunities for women, the Defence Ministry said. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Jammu, under the aegis of HQ Recruiting Zone Jalandhar, organised the programme on October 21. He said the event was attended by 300 students, including NCC cadets, along with college teaching staff. Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal lauded the Army’s efforts to engage with and support the youth of Jammu division. The spokesperson said the programme focused on educating students about various entry routes into the Indian Army, with special emphasis on officer-level entries, NCC special entry and opportunities for women candidates. He said recruitment authorities reiterated that selection into the Indian Army is free, transparent and merit-based, while cautioning aspirants against touts and fraudsters. “Stay alert and don't let scammers exploit your dream of donning the uniform. Rely only on your hard work and official channels,” the recruitment team advised the aspirants. The spokesperson urged candidates to use the official website, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, for registrations and recruitment-related updates—(KNO)
